Mr Eye Ball was a Scottish rugby player and on a fine Saturday in 1999 he was kicking a ball by the Loch Ness.
The ball went into the water and when he went to get it back he saw a big shadow of a monster come over to him. He stood up with his ball and screamed.
"It was huge, black and as big as a tree. Suddenly it jumped at me. I was so scared I threw my rugby ball at its disgusting mouth."
Mr Ball said the monster then started chewing wildly on the rugby ball and then it began to choke. It then slowly slid backwards into the water and coughed itself away.
"I hope I didn’t kill it, but I had to do something."
After that Mr Ball ran home to get his camera but never saw the monster again. A week later a little boy found a ripped ball on the edge of the water.

It was a Saturday in August 1930 and Mr and Mrs Alfie were driving their old car along the road beside the Loch Ness. They were traveling around the world taking photographs for famous magazines. Suddenly the saw a monster's head pop up out of the water. They could not believe it was a Waterhorse! Then it spotted them and started to swim up to them. They were so scared but they took a photo and drove off as fast as they could.
They took it to the local newspaper where the picture was printed on the front page.
The next day, a large amount of people gathered around to try and catch the Loch Ness Monster but that was the first and last sighting ever.

On September the 17th 1938 Mr McLurky who was a cow thief was up early in the morning stealing some cows on the edge of Loch Ness. He was lurking around when suddenly he saw a big shadow in the loch move. He saw it again and he waited and took a photo.
He said “My photo was a bit blurry but it looked like a gigantic monster of some sort. It was swimming wildly around in the water searching for food”. Mr McLurky was so frightened he left his stolen cows behind and ran quickly to get help. Mr McLurky never stole anything close to the loch again.

On Thursday 14th August 2000 Mr Charles Urqart who lives on the west shore of Loch Ness was sitting happily in his castle. He said “All of a sudden a thing jumped out of the water and I was horrified. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I was shocked.” He ran for the castle and got his shotgun. When he came back to the west shore he realized that the horse-like thing was the monster of the Loch Ness. He tried to shoot the monster, but he missed. The monster came up to Mr Urqart and got the shotgun in his mouth and destroyed it. Mr Urqart then ran off and told what had happened to his friends. They reported the story to the newspaper. The next time, when the monster was seen was two years later.

WELLINGTON 2008
by Josh Allan & Jack Button (Year 7)
On Sunday 16th March, we departed from the Waipara train station at 7:59 a.m. to get to Picton, it was a long trip and on the way we saw dolphins and seals. Later that day we arrived in Picton and got off the train, and then we got on a ferry and departed from Picton. It was a windy ride and it took ages. When we arrived in Wellington we unpacked and all had a good sleep.

On Monday we took a long walk to the National War Memorial where we had a look at the unknown warrior’s tomb, the Simpson and Murphy statue and we took a look inside the Hall of Memories. For lunch we went to a supermarket while some others watched cricket at the Basin Reserve. Everyone went to Te Papa and had a walk around and looked for two hours. Later at four o’clock we went to Ferg’s rock climbing, they told us the rules and then we set off; most of the climbing walls were challenging but were all fun it was cool to have so many people climbing at once. Then we went back to downtown backpackers and had spaghetti bolognese for tea then we went to bed.

Tuesday morning we went to the cable car and took a very slow ride up to the cable car museum, it was fun and we bought some cool souvenirs from the shop. Next we walked to Plimmer’s Ark - there we looked at some of the stuff that survived the earthquake in 1885, we also saw water underneath the building to show where the shore line used to be. We quickly walked to look at the old money vault. Then we went to the food court and had some delicious lunch of our choice and we all went to the lolly shop and bought some nice lollies. That afternoon we toured Parliament and the Beehive. We meet a guide called Pat who showed us around. We walked into a meeting and saw all the Members of Parliament, it was quite interesting. Then we went to the Reserve Bank and saw 1 million dollars in $50 notes. After we went to the National Archives and saw the Treaty of Waitangi. Then we walked to Helen Clark’s house. We had hamburgers for tea that night. And we had a good night’s sleep.

On Wednesday we went to the City and Sea museum and saw a hologram of a person who told us about the Maori past and after that we saw a DVD about what happened on the Wahine and what it was like. Then we took a look at the Wahine mast and read the plaque. After lunch we went and had a look at the glass elevator and we also got to go in it and have a look inside it when it was moving. After we went to the railway station and took a ride to Porirua, and had a swim. It was fun because there was a hydro slide. Then we walked to McDonald’s and had tea it was very nice. A while after Mc Donald’s we had a game of bullrush it was wicked. That night we packed our bags and had a good sleep.

On Thursday all the people who were going on the ferry home got up nice and early to quickly catch the shuttle to the ferry and took a long ride back Picton. Meanwhile the people who were going home on the plane took all their bags into a bus that was going to take us to the wind turbine. It took 24 people shoulder to shoulder to reach right around it. On the way back to the bus we saw a massive weta it looked awesome. Next stop was Churchill Park to see the Wahine anchor and anchor chain some of us were allowed to walk across it. Then we went to the airport and gave our bags to the Pacific Blue people and hopped on the plane it was a smooth trip home. Mean while the others were eating fish’ n’ chips for lunch. It took 9 hours overall for them to get back home! Overall it was a fun and exiting trip and we all enjoyed it!
