Hurunui College is seeking a highly motivated and experienced school leader to join our dynamic school community. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in improving student outcomes and fostering a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist and work closely with the Principal and Deputy Principal - Primary, in the overall management and leadership of the school Supervise and evaluate the work of teachers and other staff members
Develop and implement programmes in conjunction with the Principal, Leadership Team and teaching staff, which reflect effective teaching and learning and result in improved student achievement and a positive school culture
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the best possible learning outcomes for students
Manage budgets and resources effectively
Participate in and lead professional development in line with the school’s strategic direction and professional development priorities
Lead pastoral team and provide leadership and support for managing student behaviour and the school's processes and systems
Requirements:
Strong leadership and management skills and an understanding of current approaches for effective leadership
Proven experience in curriculum development, change management and leading professional development
A commitment to School wide PB4L, restorative practices and managing positive relationships
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
An in-depth understanding of current approaches to effective teaching and learning
A commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
A current New Zealand teacher registration and practising certificate
